Two tot baseball teams to vie in Jakarta bash
MANILA, Philippines - Two crack teams from Tot Baseball –the “Razcals†and the “Barakos†will be competing in the 2013 Asia Pacific Zone Mustang (9-10 yrs) and Bronco-11 (11 yrs) Division Championships to be held in Jakarta May 22-25.
The other nations seeing action are Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Far East Russia. Champions of these tournaments will represent the Asian Region at the PONY International Mustang World Series to be held in Burleson, Texas on Aug. 1-4 and the PONY International Bronco-11 World Series to be held in Chesterfield Virginia on July 25-28.
The two teams are raring to go and compete as they gear up for another crack at the World Series. The Razcals were Asian Champions in 2011, while the Barakos are now the defending Champions. However, Indonesia is poised to make a good performance due to their strong second place finish in both tournaments last year in Singapore.
The Razcals line-up are Rodelito Olfato, Jefferson Vispo, Deniel Mendoza, Kean Managihan, Angelo Bernardo, Aragorn de Vera, Jacob Frankera, Joshua Mangahas, Jester Tapia, Kennedy Torres, Ryle Trinidad, Kenneth Torres and Dominic Magalpo. Their coaches are Christian Cinco and Alex Olfato.
The Barakos line-up are Vincent Mendoza, Ivan Tolentino, Lloyd Cinco, Juilien Filart, John Matanguihan, Kenneth de los Santos, Jewell Dimapilis, Jerome Pamute, Bryan Magnaye, Neil Perez, Dax Fabella, Reden Tapia and Sancho Llamas. Their coaches are Romar and Teddy Landicho.
The Razcals play the Indonesian host team and the Barakos defending Mustang Champion Singapore on the first day of hostilities on May 22. Tot Baseball president Boy Tingzon says that he is very hopeful that the two teams win their respective assignments and will move them closer to their ultimate goal of being the first Asian World Champions in either age group.
