MANILA, Philippines - Kiefer Ravena came back strong from a so-so performance in the previous game as he exploded with 33 points to lead Ateneo to an 88-81 win over Letran yesterday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Pre-Season Premier Cup at the Arena.

Ravena, who struggled for seven markers and missed a number of endgame shots in a 57-63 setback to the UST Tigers last Saturday, fired on all cylinders this time to power the Eagles to their fourth triumph in five outings.

In the first game, Jon Rebollos fired 20 markers as San Sebastian picked up its first win via an 84-73 drubbing of Cebuano team Southwestern U.

Despite the win, Ateneo coach Bo Perasol was disappointed with his wards’ efforts, particularly in the final quarter.

“We should have a matured game at endgame,” said Perasol, who’s taking over a team that’s rebuilding after the graduation of key players from its five-peat crew.
