MANILA, Philippines - Officials of the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA), led by sec-gen Bogie Castro, will honor members of the Philippine contingent who won medals in the Australasian shooting championship in New Zealand last March, during the first Firearms Enthusiasts Day (FED) on April 20 at Metrotent, Metrowalk Complex, Pasig City.
Castro will be joined by Sen. Gregorio Honasan, Sen. Koko Pimentel, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima in the event.
World shooting champion Jethro Dionisio, president of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD), said key discussions on gun-related issues between government authorities and gun owners will be tackled during the FED.
AFAD put up the event, set from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., “as a gesture of appreciation for all licensed firearms owners for their contribution in the maintenance of peace and order in the country.â€
Dionisio is among those who will be honored during the FED for bagging the overall crown in the Standard Division.
