Informatics clips Adamson to share Fr. Martin Cup lead

MANILA, Philippines -- The Informatics Icons kept the Adamson Falcons at bay, 88-81, while the San Beda Red Lions frustrated the national youth team, 64-52, in the ongoing  19th Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gymnasium.

Cedric Ablaza banged in 14 points for the Icons, who went on to post their second consecutive win in Group B, and this allowed them to keep up with the Ateneo-B Blue Eagles in the early lead.

Cameroonian cager Pierre Tankoua fired 12 points for the Red Lions, who bounced back from a 63-72 loss to the Adamson Falcons in another Group B action.

In other matches, the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers handed the Letran Knights their second straight setback following a 62-59 triumph, and this hike JRU’s win-loss record to 1-1 in Group A.

In the junior action, La Salle-Zobel blasted Ateneo White, 96-33, for their first triumph in Group B, while Emilio Aguinaldo College (1-1) prevailed over the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs, 66-65.
