Pacquiao guest in Firearms Day
MANILA, Philippines - Saragani Rep. and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao joins a power-packed roster of guests invited to grace the first Firearms Enthusiasts Day (FED) April 20 at Metrotent at the Metro Walk complex in Pasig.
Pacquiao has confirmed his participation in the event where gun-related issues between government authorities and gun owners will be discussed.
Organized by the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD) as a gesture of appreciation for all licensed firearms owners for their contribution in the maintenance of peace and order in the country, the event will also feature officials from the government and private sectors.
They include Sens. Gregorio Honasan, Koko Pimentel and Chiz Escudero and Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima along with AFAD officials, led by its president and world shoot champion Jethro Dionisio.
From gun ownership to the “Oplan Katok†– a door-to-door campaign of the PNP aimed at reminding owners of firearms with expired licenses to renew them – police officials and other government personalities will also grace the forum for an interaction with the gun community.
Spicing up the event is a retro music by the Midlife Crisis band as well as raffle draws where eight pistols will be given away, including Bersa 380-P.B. Dionisio; Firestorm Contender – Weapons Systems; Glock Safe Action Pistol – Trust Trade; Jericho – Espineli; SAM Military – Shooters Guns & Ammo; Sig Sauer 250 – Twin Pines; Tara 9mm – Jethro International, Inc.; and M70 pistol – Nashe. Free event T-shirts will also be given away.
