South Korean shows wares in GT300
MANILA, Philippines - After making big strides last season, South Korean Peter Kim is pushing his bid for GT 300 racing under Team S-Oil.
S-Oil is Korea’s No. 1 Super Oil and its optimum performance on his Hyundai Genesis hopefully will boost Kim’s title quest as he moves up in the GT300 class with support from Euro Standard and Bridgestone under the management of Tuason Racing.
He first saw action on local soil as a Race Ford Lynx Cup driver but it was only last year when he went into circuit racing. He joined only three legs of the Philippine Grand Touring Car Championship last season and got inspiring results when he created quite a stir capturing the GT200 crown on the very last race.
Though just a new name in the local racing scene, Kim holds a credible racing background having stints in the 1999 Hyundai One-Make race, 2000 Hyundai Touring Car, and the Formula Korea in 2001 and 2002.
Moving into the country with his Filipina wife, Kim joined the 2009 Phillippine Bike race and karting before jumping to circuit racing last year.
Aside from pushing his title bid, the South Korean brought in S-Oil to help in the development of Philippine Motorsports. S-Oil is Korea’s pioneer petroleum corporation in Korea, more known for its S-Oil SSU and Dragon engine oils exported to 58 countries worldwide and available for both diesel and gas engines.
