Book chronicles best in Shakey’s V-League

MANILA, Philippines - To celebrate its 10th year, the Shakey’s V-League will present a special edition coffee table book when the country’s premier women’s volleyball league kicks off tomorrow  at The Arena in San Juan City.

The coffee table book is a special project made by the organizing Sports Vision to further reach out to the country’s growing population of volleyball fans.

“We wanted to come up with a limited edition, collector’s item kind of souvenir that our fans can keep,” said Sports Vision president Ricky Palou.

Some of the country’s top sportswriters, photojournalists and young writers from University of Santo Tomas contributed to the 200-page coffee table book, which will feature stories and a wide array of photographs of the league’s top stars since its launch in 2004.

Featured are the likes of Suzanne Roces, Aiza Maizo, Rachel Anne Daquis, Charo Soriano, Alyssa Valdez, Angeli Tabaquero, Gretchen Ho, Fille Cainglet, Michelle Carolino, Mary Jane Balse and Nerissa Bautista. The coffee table book will be available to fans tomorrow.
