GolfMix conducts summer golf camps

MANILA, Philippines - The GolfMix Summer Junior Golf Camps 2013 kicks off a series of golf clinics at five golf camp venues, including Manila Polo Club in Makati, City Golf in Pasig, Southpoint Driving Range in Alabang, Orchard in Dasmariñas, Cavite and Riviera Sports Club in Silang, Cavite.

“Our program is offered in different venues, with three schedules daily, to provide accessible learning opportunities for parents who want to properly introduce their kids to golf,” said Chris Guerrero, GolfMix head of junior golf programs.

The camp program is designed to encourage kids 4-12 years old to start learning golf the fun way. For those who have tried golf before, the program serves as a refresher course so they can go back to the game and develop the habit of practicing regularly to continuously improve their skills and to eventually compete and play with other junior golfers here and abroad.

The GolfMix coaching team is composed of former junior golfers who are now golf pros. Each camp module includes six sessions of 1.5-hours each at the driving range, a 9-hole fairway session, tournament entry fee for the May 26 culminating activity, golf shirt, cap and bagtag, P1,000 gift certificate for US Kids Golf set and snacks during the camp.

Through the program, GolfMix, in cooperation with the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines and Riviera Sports Club, aims to discover talents who could be included in the roster of GolfMix training pool with a goal of becoming national players.

At the close of the summer golf camps, participants will have a chance to showcase their skills and apply what they have learned through a fun skills challenge at the Manila Polo Club on May 19 and also play in a mini competition with other camp participants in the “Champions of Tomorrow Golf Tournament” on May 26 at Riviera.

Parents of the participants will also be oriented on how they can support and encourage their kids in this sport through the free clinic for parents.
