Nationals face Pirates in Martin Cup opener

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine youth team clashes with Lyceum while San Beda-A and Ateneo Blue collide in the other match highlighting the start of the 19th Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament on Saturday at the San Beda gym in Mendiola.

The Nationals will face the Pirates in the first senior division game at 12 noon while the San Beda-A Red Cubs and the Ateneo Blue cagers face off at 8 a.m. in a junior division match. Also on tap is the clash between San Beda-B and Ateneo White.

Fatima College meets AMA Computer University at 12:30 p.m. while the University of the Philippines Maroons take on the PATTS College of Aeronautics Sea Horses at 2 p.m. in other senior games.

A total of 16 collegiate men’s teams, the national youth quintet and 17 high school boys’ squads are seeing action in the tournament.
