Millet cops crown

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fast emerging as one of the young ace drag racers in the country, Arvin Jay Millet captured his second straight title in the Yokohama Expert class recently in the second leg of the 2013 Petronas Philippine Drag Racing Championship-Northern Series at the Clark International Speedway.

It was the only victory for the 20-year-old Millet, whose bid for a third straight win in the premiere M&H Pro class went up in smoke after he was booted out early.

He vented his frustration in the Yokohama Expert class where he outclassed four drivers in the early elimination rounds before forging a title showdown against another rising young talent, his cousin Jannery Millet.

The crowd cheered as the Millets went almost neck-and-neck before Arvin Jay prevailed to claim the crown in 13.022 second, beating Jannery (13.446).
