MANILA, Philippines -- The Boracay Rum Waves look to stretch their winning streak to three games when they battle the Big Chill Superchargers tomorrow afternoon in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at The Arena in San Juan.

After opening their campaign with a 66-68 loss to Cebuana Lhuillier,  The Waves bounced back with successive wins against Informatics (0-2) and Jumbo Plastic (1-2).

Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson was quick to downplay their streak, though. “I don’t see it as gauge on how we’ll perform in our next outing. Our schedule gets tougher as the conference goes along. We just have to try to play our best basketball and do the things that works for us,” he said.

Undoubtedly their 2 p.m. duel with Big Chill at The Arena in San Juan presents a tough challenge for the Superchargers, who are working on practically the same roster over the past three conferences.

Also playing today are Cagayan Valley and Informatics at 12 noon while Café France battles Jumbo Plastic at 4 p.m.

The Superchargers got their campaign rolling with blast – an 86-77 overtime victory over defending champion NLEX -- but suffered a crashing blow in their next game againt newcomer Hog’s Breath Razorbacks, who dealt them a  stunning, 69-63, loss Monday last week.

Roberth Sison, the Big Chill coach, admitted the defeat was a humbling experience. “It made the players realized that no team in this league is a pushover,” he said.

Sison said the return of star point guard Terrence Romeo in the lineup provides a big boost for the team.

“Definitely, he’s a big boost to our morale and confidence. We’ll go all out to get the W.”

The Cagayan Valley and the Informatics are also aching to bounce back after frustrating defeats.

The Rising Suns lost to Boracay Rum, 85-89 in overtime last week while the Icons have lost their first two assignments also in overtime after leading by double digits in both games.

Café France, on the other hand, tries to follow up its 84-77 overtime win against informatics last Tuesday while the Giants try rebound from a 67-87 defeat against Boracay Rum last Tuesday.
