MICAA Manila summer sportsfest under way

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Schools Athletic Association, in cooperation with Fusion Advertising Marketing Hub and the Manila Sports Council,  presents the 2013 MICAA Manila Summer Sports Festival, which opens today at the Dapitan Sports Complex.

Participating schools in basketball, volleyball and badminton are Saint Raphaela Mary  School, King’s Montessori School, Malayan High School of Science A, Malayan High School of Science B, Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan, Maria Montessori School of Quezon City, Ernesto Rondon High School and the University of Santo Tomas.

Manila City Mayor Alfredo Lim has been invited to grace the opening rites at 8 a.m.

Other guests are  MASCO chairman Paul Edward Almario, PSAA chairman Philip Sio, PSAA president Roland Lim,  Fusion marketing director John Tan, and first district Councilor Niño dela Cruz.

The two-week tournament is supported by Allied Bank, Emperador Light, Robinsons Land, Gatorade and the Manila Bulletin.

Tournament director is Abe Giron.
