Jr NBA holds regional camp

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Basketball enthusiasts and coaches take one step closer to their NBA dreams as the 2013 Jr. NBA Philippines presented by Alaska sets its regional camps nationwide.

The top youth basketball program will soon announce the 10 best campers who will form the 2013 Jr. NBA Philippine All-Star Team. From the regional selection camp, at least 40 players will be invited to join the National Training Camp in Manila, where they will all prepare and compete for the coveted Jr. NBA team and NBA experience.

The 2013 Jr. NBA Philippines kicked off its Regional Selection Camp in Dagupan last week with Davao hosting the next stop on April 1-3 at the University of Southeastern Philippines.

The program will then go to Lucena City in Quezon to host the third Regional Selection Camp and NBA Cares on April 6-8 at the Quezon Convention Center.

The regional selection camp winds up in Manila on April 13-14 at Aquinas School in San Juan.

Now on its sixth consecutive year, the Jr. NBA provides young and aspiring Filipino athletes a venue to hone and develop their basketball skills and learn sportsmanship. The camps and clinics will test their talents, increase their knowledge about the sport and prepare them for the real hard court.

The 2013 Jr. NBA Philippines presented by Alaska is sponsored by the Master and Rexona.
