MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Swimming League is staging the first Nikki Coseteng Motivational Swim Splash March 24 at the Diliman Preparatory School on Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.
PSL president Susan Papa said more than 400 swimmers from Metro Manila, Cavite, Quezon province, Zambales, Batangas, Laguna, Olongapo, Pampanga and Bicol are competing in the swimming event, which is open to all swimmers.
Papa said the PSL will be giving out nine medals in each individual event for Class A, B, C. The age categories are 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 and over.
“Our quadruple A, triple A and double A swimmers will no longer participate in this event to prepare them for a competition with the collegiate swimmers,†Papa said.
“More swimmers will be motivated this way as they remain committed to their training program,†added Papa.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers for boys and girls, while trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding boys and girls swimmers in each A, B, and C age-group. The team with the highest combined points wins the overall championship.
