Manila Bay festival attracts stellar casts

MANILA, Philippines - Olympic rowers, Southeast Asian Games medalists, and members of the Philippine national team that copped previous World Dragon Boat Championships will all see action in the two-day Manila Bay Seasports Festival to be held on March 16-17.

Among the teams joining the dragon boat race are One Piece Drakon Sangress, Rogue Pilipinas, Triton Dragon Racing Teams, Amateur Paddlers Philippines, Mahalrika Drakon, Blue Phoenix, Onslaught Racing Dragons, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army, Manila Ocean Park, Dragons Republik Philippines, Adamson Draconis Falco, RCP Sea Dragon, Cebu Dragons, Lake Buhi, and Buhi-Camsur Team.

In the motorized banca competition, racers from Pangasinan, Cavite, Quezon, Batangas, La Union, Negros Occidental, Navotas, Cagayan Valley, Surigao del Sur, Laoag, Misamis Oriental, Binangonan, and Iloilo will compete in the stock and formula races. 

Presented by Manila Broadcasting Company, Star City, and the City of Manila, in cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard, the Manila Bay Seasports Festival is now on its 13th year, and once again expects to draw big crowds. Top concert artists have been invited to grace the awarding ceremonies that will cap the two-day event.

Races begin at 8 a.m. The 2013 Manila Bay Seasports Festival is supported by Caltex, Ginebra San Miguel, Eveready, the Social Security System, MyJuiz, Cobra Energy Drink, M. Lhuillier, Silka Papaya Soap, Manila Ocean Park, and Cord Marine Epoxy.
