Jorge, Nocum lead school jungolf winners

MANILA, Philippines - Josh Jorge, Ashia Nocum, Annika Guangko and Jamina Uttoh picked up their second victories to lead the winners in the third leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Series at the Club Intramuros recently.

Jorge claimed boys Class D, Nocum ruled girls Class C and Uttoh prevailed in girls Class D for their second straight wins in the series organized by The Junior Golfers League in collaboration with the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines. Guangko took the girls Class B crown again after winning the first leg.

Jorge’s 102 in the best of two-of-three-rounds format at the short but tricky course was good for an 18-point win over Andre Yuchengco. Nocum (93) also had a double-digit 11-point margin over first leg winner Kristine Torralba, Guangko (81) finished far ahead of Stef Yuson and Uttoh got the best of first leg winner Barro with their scores of 69 and 57, respectively.

The tourney, supported by International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Pancake House, Yellow Cab, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Philippine Airlines and Golf Depot,  featured a powerhouse, 19-player boys Class B field that saw Ira Alido (103) edging former US Kids world champion Philippe Palanca by three.

In the other divisions, Bryan Banatin and Sandra Nocum triumphed in Class A, Liam Cully captured the boys Class B plum, Sean Granada and Arnie Taguines won in Class E and Lia Duque and Lucas Hondreal emerged the Class F winners.

Banatin upstaged first leg champ Jonas Magcalayo, Cully took a 24-point win over Aldo Barro, Granada finished with a 13-point margin over Ken Shibata, Taguines posted a close two-point win over Annyka Cayabyab, Hondreal (75) wound up five up on Andrew Chua while Duque was unchallenged in girls Class F.
