Munoz eyes comeback in UFC 162
MANILA, Philippines –After a tough loss to Chris Weidman, Mark Munoz eyes to bounce back in UFC 162 on July 6 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The Fil-American Munoz is booked to fight Tim “The Barbarian†Boestche in one of the undercards of the UFC 162 that will be headlined by the Anderson Silva-Weidman fight according to UFC’s official website.
Munoz, who is still regarded as one of the top ten middleweight fighters in the premier octagon ring, is scheduled to arrive in Manila tomorrow (Friday) for his UFC Media Tour that will culminate in an open training at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on Sunday.
The Filipino Wrecking Machine lost his title shot after he was demolished by Weidman in the UFC on Fuel 4 main event last year.
The second round TKO was only Munoz’s third loss in 15 fights and his first in the middleweight division. He owns a 12-3-0 win-loss-draw card.
Munoz will be facing Boestche, who is also coming off a third round TKO loss to Constantinos Philippou in UFC 155 last December.
Boestche was originally scheduled to fight Munoz’s tormentor Weidman but was forced out of the fight due to injury and was replaced by Philippou.
