Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines will pin its medal hopes on a crack team of five, led by 2011 world junior titlist Eumir Marcial, in the upcoming  ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships it will host from March 10-17 in Subic.

Marcial, who won the world junior crown as a bantamweight but has now bulked up to light-welterweight, will carry the fight in the 64-kgs division, while Jade Bornea, bronze medalist in last year’s World Youth Championships, will vie in the 49-kgs play.

Ian Clark Bautista (52 kgs), Jonas Bacho (56kgs), and James Palicte (60kgs) will also don the country’s colors in the boxfest that will showcase the best 17-18 year-old boxers from the continent.
