PWU, RTU, San Beda keep WNCAA titles

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Women’s University and Rizal Technological University retained their respective seniors titles while San Beda College Alabang, Miriam College and De La Salle Zobel snared two titles each in the five-event sportsfest of the 43rd WNCAA recently.

PWU bested Centro Escolar U and St. Scholastica’s College to keep its badminton crown while RTU toppled CEU and PWU to retain the table tennis crown.

San Beda also kept its midget and junior swimming plums while Miriam bagged the junior taekwondo and badminton diadems.

De La Salle Zobel emerged the best in midget taekwondo and junior tennis. 

Other winners in the weekend event held at SBCA grounds were Angelicum College (midget badminton), Assumption College (senior swimming), St. Stephen’s High School (junior table tennis) and CEU (senior taekwondo).

Named Most Valuable Players were PWU’s Carissa Mae Espino, Miriam’s Patricia Malibiran and Assumption’s Aldreen Concepcion (badminton); San Beda’s Angeli Alvarez and Catherine Bondad and SSHS’s Patricia Michaela Tee (swimming); RTU’s Denelyn Dionio and SSHS’s Richanda Ching (table tennis); and CEU’s Dianne Chua, Miriam’s Kristine Banal and DLSZ’s Julia Luisa Panganiban (taekwondo).
