The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The AMA University junior team set a new record in Philippine high school basketball history for scoring the biggest winning margin of 172 pts in a 213-41 win over Immaculate Heart of Mary College  in the Sen. Nikki Coseteng Cup  Sunday at the Diliman Preparatory School gymnasium on Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.

The record beats the San Beda Red Cubs’ 157-point winning margin against Lyceum  in the NCAA last season.

The AMA University Jr Titans, champions of the recently concluded UCLAA high school division and Bondoc Cup and coached by Mark Herrera, also posted the highest score by a team in a single game (213pts), highest halftime score (98pts), and highest score in a quarter (58pts).

Herrera drew an impressive performance from Clark Quijano (34 pts), Jeyson David (30), Alvin Fuentes (22), Marc Marty (15) and Marc Pippin (15).

The Jr Titans are supported by Ambassador Amable Aguiluz, AMA University first vice president Arnel Hibo, and team manager Aldric Manrique.
