Sewa continues to impress, powers Adamson in Fr. Martin Cup

 MANILA, Philippines – Cameroonian Ingrid Sewa continued to show his A-game for the Adamson Falcons, who held off the College of St. Benilde-A Blazers, 76-54, in the ongoing 9th Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open basketball tournament.

The six-foot-10 Sewa knocked in 22 points for the Falcons, who went on to remain unbeaten after five games at the Trinity University of Asia gymnasium.

The Falcons moved a game closer to completing a six-game sweep of Group B, and they are now assured of one of two quarterfinal slots with the Arellano University Chiefs (5-1).

In Group A, Letran (5-1) and defending champion San Beda Red Lions (4-1) are already in the quarterfinals, according to commissioner Robert de la Rosa.

Joseph Marquez tallied 24 points for the Informatics Icons, who beat the University of Perpetual Help-B Altas, 72-56, while Paolo Taha delivered 14 points for the College of St. Benilde-B Blazers, who won over Lyceum, 58-49.

The Icons finished third in Group B with their 4-2 win-loss slate, and will meet the sixth placed Mapua Cardinals (1-5) this Sunday in the wildcard phase at 9 a.m.

UPHSD-A(4-2) fights the University of the Philippines Maroons(2-4) in the other wildcard encounter at 10:30 a.m.
