Bustamante leads Phl bets’ romp

MANILA, Philippines - Francisco “Django” Bustamante pocketed the Master of the Table crown to lead the Filipinos’ domination of the 15th Annual Derby City Classic at the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Elizabeth, Indiana Sunday.

Bustamante won $20,000 for winning the All Around of The Master of the Table title, dominated the 9-Ball Banks and finished second to American Corey Deuel in the One Pocket division.

Former world 9-ball champion Alex Pagulayan subdued American Shawn Putnam, 9-6, to top the 9-ball division worth $16,000 while Dennis Orcollo completed the Filipinos’ romp with an 11-9 victory over Niels Feijen of the Netherlands, in the “Big Foot” 10-Ball Challenge. The former world No. 1 took home $20,000.

The troika’s US campaign was supported by Puyat Sports, Bugsy International Promotions and the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines.
