MANILA, Philippines – The McKinley Hill Football Field has to wait for its turn to host the United Football League matches.
The league decided yesterday to move all its matches, at least, in the first two week back to Rizal Memorial Football Stadium to give more time for the finishing touches of the newly-built football field in Global City.
After the league announced that McKinley Hill was tapped to be its new home during the press launch yesterday, UFL notified the press several hours later of the latest development.
In an email advisory last night, UFL’s media officer Rick Olivares wrote, “The first two weeks of UFL play will NOW BE AT THE RIZAL MEMORIAL FOOTBALL STADIUM. Then we move to McKinley Field.â€
Olivares added that the McKinley Hill Football Field management will just add few more lights to make sure everything is good especially now that the matches on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be played at night and broadcasted live over Sports 5’s AKTV.
Loyola Meralco Sparks will take on the Phil. Army while defending league champion Global play Pasargad on Tuesday to kick off the UFL new season. Coverage will start at 5 p.m.
