MANILA, Philippines - Enzo Pastor of Team Circuit Showdown and defending champion Joey Pery dominated their respective events as they ruled the third leg of the Philippine Touring Car Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently.
Pastor, who missed the action in the last leg, returned with flourish as he topped Rounds 8 and 9 while Pery ruled Round 7 of the event organized
by the Automobile Association Philippines and promoted by the
Philippine Race Car Driver’s Inc. and co-presented by Tiarra
Commercial (Kumho Tires).
Pastor missed scoring a sweep after grabbing the lead from Pery in Round 7 as he suffered an engine failure in the last few laps, enabling the latter to regain the top spot en route to victory.
Pery, the 2010 AAP Driver of the Year, completed the 14-lap race in 26
minutes, 58.943 seconds, more than 10 seconds ahead of William Tan of 2Go-Promithium Racing with Pastor settling for third.
Taysan Mayor Dondon Portugal and Arnel Carlos wound up fourth and
fifth, respectively.
Pastor, meanwhile, came back aboard his turbo Civic EG6 the following day as he beat Pery and Uly Maningding of Explorer Motorsports in Rounds 8 and 9.
The final and championship leg is set on Feb. 9 and 10 with the staging of rounds 10, 11 and 12 at Batangas Racing Circuit.
