San Juan out to solidify title bid in touring car

MANILA, Philippines - Leo San Juan tries to firm up his title bid as he goes for crucial victories in the third leg of the 2012 Philippine Touring Car Championships today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

San Juan, aboard Nissan Sentra race car, pulled off a victory in Race 6 in the last leg to stay on top in Division 2 (for 150hp cars).

With three wins, a runner-up and two third-place finishes, San Juan stormed to a 17-point lead with 99 points after the first six races of the 12-race, four-round event organized by the Automobile Association Philippines.

But the top Tuason Racing School bet, backed by Nissan Commonwealth, The Sunny Motors Group, Ziebart, Hi-Quality Brands, Excellar, TitanWorks and TRS Racing Team partners OMP and C!Magazine, expects a tough outing in the last six races of the event.

He, however, hopes to put in display the technical skills, strategy and racing judgment he learned from the TRS-Race Career Management Program to frustrate his rivals.

The TRS-RCMP, a brainchild of TRS founder and president JP Tuason, is aimed at helping TRS drivers achieve a successful career in motor sports and develop them into world-class racers.

“Leo has shown tremendous improvement in his racing skills in the past six PTCC races. Barring any problems with his car, we expect him to dominate the next three races in this leg,” said Tuason.
