MANILA, Philippines – Back-to-back champion Adamson University completed a first round sweep after thumping University of Santo Tomas, 3-0, in 75th  UAAP softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium today.

The Lady Falcons are still unblemished after six games (6-0) to stay on top while their victims fell in the second spot with a 3-2 record.

Julie Ann Muyco ousted eight battlers of the Tigresses while Michelle Lentija scored a home run for Adamson. It was the second homer for the Lady Falcons this season after reigning Athlete of the Year Rizza Bernardino scored the first.

“Karamihan ng games namin dikit (sa first round), hindi tulad dati na milya-milya ang lamangMga kalaban namin, nag-i-improve (Most of our games in the first round are close, unlike before. Our opponents are improving),” said Lady Falcons coach Ana Santiago.

The San Marcelino-based squad extended its winning streak to 26 games dating back from the 2010-11 season.

Hindi kami dapat magpabaya kahit defending champion kami (We should not be careless),” added Santiago

Meanwhile, host National University is now tied with UST after dismantling Ateneo de Manila University, 10-4.

The Lady Eagles suffered their fifth consecutive setback.
