UST, AdU spikers duel for third spot
MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas and Adamson clash today for solo third spot as action in the UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament resumes at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan today.
Gametime is at 3:30 p.m.
UST coach Odjie Mamon knows that the Lady Falcons will be tough to beat but remains hopeful of their chances.
Adamson dragged unbeaten Ateneo through a five-setter before dropping a 25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 11-15 decision last Sunday.
UST, meanwhile, bucked the absence of Maru Banaticla to repulse University of the East, 26-24, 25-21, 25-23, and tie Adamson at 3-2.
Banaticla, the Tigresses’ main offensive weapon, missed the game against the Lady Warriors due to dehydration.
It has been a roller-coaster campaign for UST, which after stunning defending champion La Salle in the opener, has lost back-to-back before winning the next two.
Far Eastern University, meanwhile, takes on UE in the first match at 2 p.m., looking for its second win in six games.
FEU, a 29-time champion, is coming off an 11-25, 17-25, 26-28 loss to NU last Saturday.
