Total sponsors LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2013

Moe Chulani, executive project director of Ronda Pilipinas, signs deal with Total (Philippines) Corp., represented by Malou Espina, VP for marketing and communications.

MANILA, Philippines - LBC Express, Inc. and Total (Philippines) Corporation recently signed a contract making the latter major sponsor of the country’s biggest cycling race event, LBC Ronda Pilipinas.

Now on its third year, LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2013, staged by LBC Express, Inc., the country’s leading courier firm, takes 96 cyclists to a grueling 21-day, 16-stage challenge covering 2,200 kilometers of 32 key cities and towns in Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon, starting Jan. 12 in Zamboanga City and ending in Baguio Feb. 1.

The event, the biggest, richest in Philippine cycling, awards the individual champion a tax-free cash prize of P1 million and the team champion another P1 million.

Total service stations along the Ronda Pilipinas route have been spruced up to show support to the riders, with special tokens for customers who visit during the race day.

Apart from on-ground support and providing its fuel products to the support vehicles, Total is also a proud sponsor of the Sprint King title, one of the race’s stage highlights.

“We are proud to be sponsoring the Sprint King title since it speaks not only of speed but of overall cycling performance. And as a brand, we are all about performance. Our products have been tried and tested in the most competitive motorsports like Formula One and World Rally Championships. This is why the title Sprint King is close to Total,” says Malou Espina, VP for marketing and communications of Total (Philippines) Corp.
