Letran, EAC, Adamson rap Martin Cup rivals

MANILA, Philippines - Letran, Adamson and Emilio Aguinaldo College continued to stamp their class in the ninth Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open basketball tournament, beating their respective rivals in emphatic fashions at the Arellano gym in Legarda over the weekend. 

Kevin Racal and Mark Cruz scored 20 and 18 points, respectively, as the Knights outplayed the University of the Philippines Maroons, 82-65, while the Falcons, with Gian Abrigo and Ingrid Sewa combining for 34 points, thumped the Informatics Icons, 76-66.

Noube Happi banged in 18 points as the Generals defeated the Mapua Cardinals, 62-55.

The Knights, who dropped a 55-69 setback to the defending champion San Beda Red Lions the last time out, improved to 2-1 in Group A while the Falcons posted their second straight win in Group B.

The Generals leaned on back-to-back triples by John Jamon in the last two minutes to help them earn their second win in three games.
