MANILA, Philippines - The University of Bohol is hosting the Philippine Swim League’s 34th leg slated Dec. 15-16 at the newly built 50-meter swimming pool at the Advance Learning Center in Tagbilaran City.
The competition, organized by PSL president Susan Papa and technical director Edgar Galeno, has drawn 12 teams outside of swimmers from Manila, Mindoro, Bicol, Muntinlupa, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Surigao, Antipolo, Cavite, Quezon City, Cebu, Dumaguete and Iloilo.
The Olympic-size pool, built by Dr. Victoriano Tirol this year, was finished in time for the Bohol event.
Papa said they had also invited teams from Australia, the US and Hong Kong whose members will be adopted by the local teams.
The competition, open to all clubs, schools and individual swimmers, will be played in seven categories for boys and girls – six years and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18 and over.
The top three finishers in each event will receive gold, silver and bronze medals while trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding swimmers for boys and girls and over-all champion trophies to the top three teams. The best swimmers in each age group category will qualify to compete in future international competitions.
