Off-roaders stage truck challenge this weekend

MANILA, Philippines - The National Association of Filipino Off-Roaders (NAsFOR) celebrates a decade of exciting action and camaraderie as it stages 2012 Philippine Tough Truck Challenge XII this weekend at the Clark International Speedway, Clark Freeport Zone.

The Philippine Tough Truck Challenge XII is NAsFOR’s most anticipated and most well-attended flagship 4x4 off-road racing event presented by 199 Off-Road House that also serves as the championship leg of the 2012 National 4x4 Extreme Series

Up for grabs are the most coveted Driver of The Year and Team Champion of the Year plums in this event powered by Colt 45, RaceTech Suspensions, Maxxis Tires, Ride Off-Road, Clark International Speedway, SMART Communications, Grantrail Cycles, Makna Marketing, Motul, Dupont car paints, Fox Racing, The Provincial Government of Pampanga, G&G International, Berrima Diesel, Gerry’s Grill, Clark International Airport Corporation, SM Clark, Air Asia, Laus Group of Companies, VHT, 112 LC House, LCA General Merchandising and The Department of Tourism.

The hunt for the Overall crowns in this year’s Philippine Tough Truck Challenge is expected to be more intense and exciting as the top three contenders – reigning NasFOR Driver of the Year Reynan Jayme of WAIG Adventure Team, Edison “Tonton” Dungca of Kapampangan Racing Team and former champion Red Diwa of Isabela Extreme – are separated by less than 30 points and will give all the best they got to push their respective title bids

A total of 60 seasoned off-roaders coming from Isabela in the North down to General Santos in the South are expected to compete in the most mind-boggling and physically demanding race as it pushes the drivers’ ingenuity, determination and strategy to the limit considering the nerve-wracking obstacles like steep hill climbs, tire-eating potholes, off-camber obstacles, log crosses, rock crawling gardens, tabletops and other challenging hurdles they have to go through.

These off-roaders will negotiate three separate tracks each with intricate technical designed obstacles and the competitor with the fastest accumulated time will be declared champion for the day.
