Smart topples Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Smart Communications leaned on Roel Escueta to beat Manila Capitals, 93-78, in the MBL Corporate Cup basketball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate recently.

Escueta scored 13 of his 18 points in the third quarter to power Smart to its second win in four matches.

Escueta spiked impressive shooting with fourth triples while Miguel Dizon, Christian del Rosario and Jhun Herrera combined for 44 points.

Cocoy Clemente finished with 23 points for Manila, followed by Vlad Igliane with 21 and Rolly Santarin with 13.
