MANILA, Philippines - Canada, long considered as the mecca of mixed martial arts, will host the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s mega-welterweight title clash between Montreal’s own Georges St-Pierre and USA’s Carlos Condit in UFC 154 Saturday.
St-Pierre returns inside the Octagon after a 19-month absence, hoping to flaunt his deadly takedowns in a bid to unify his UFC welterweight title with the interim belt which Condit, a noted muay thai artist, claimed during his absence.
Co-headlining UFC 154 is a possible No.1 contender’s bout between Martin Kampmann and Johny Hendricks while Canadian fighters and UFC veterans will slug it out in the undercard.
