Gun, car shows slated at SMX

MANILA, Philippines - The 2012 Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 2 will be staged jointly with the sixth Manila Auto Salon starting Nov. 29, marking the first time that the country’s premier gun show and the biggest auto fair will be held under one roof at SMX Convention Center at Mall of Asia.

The DSAS-MAS event ending Dec. 2 is expected to draw thousands of gun and car enthusiasts with a wide array of modern firearms and the latest on the automotive aftermarket industry on tap, according Tradeshow International president Sophie de los Santos, DSAS event manager and MAS organizer.

According to Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers president Neri Dionisio, PNP chief Dir. Gen. Nicanor Bartolome will grace the opening of the gun show, which will also hold free seminars to promote responsible gun ownership by A2S5 Coalition, gun handling and safety, future of sport shooting, and how to check gun reliability and proper gun maintenance.

Also lined up are “Doomsday Paradigm: Strategy for Survival and Security Component in Climate Change Survival” and seminars on self-defense and practical medicine for emergency response. There will also be product demonstrations by the country’s leading gun dealers and manufacturers.

The MAS, on the other hand, will showcase the latest on the automotive aftermarket industry with emphasis on a big selection of custom built and modified cars vying for honors on best in show, best in paint, best in engine tuning and best in car audio.
