Brahmans tame Tigers, retain regional title

MANILA, Philippines - University of Batangas Brahmans successfully defended their South Luzon-Bicol regional title by beating Naga College Foundation, 115-83, in the finals of the South Luzon-Bicol regional games of Champions League (PCCL) 2012 National Collegiate Championship at J.M. Robredo Coliseum, Naga City.

The Brahmans swept the series, winning over CCDI Wildcats of Sorsogon, 110-55, and Amando Cope College Green Serpents of Tabaco, 132-73.

In the championship games, the Brahmans high scoring troika of Ceric de Joya , Roel Rodavia and Francis Florence dominated the NCF Tigers right from the start.

With the win, University of Batangas advanced to Round 16 (Sweet 16) and will meet the champion of North/Central Luzon in the opening games of the “step-ladder knock-out” phase of the Champions League National Collegiate competitions set to fire off in Tanauan, Batangas on Nov. 9.

The regional games were hosted by Naga City thru the support of the office of Naga City Mayor John Garcia Bongat as part of the city mayor’s sports development program.
