PCCL stays in Flying V Arena

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - FilOil Flying V has renewed its partnership with the Champions League (PCCL) as venue sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.

Champions League chairman, Rey Gamboa, and Raffy Villavicencio, head of FilOil Flying V Sports, recently signed an agreement making FilOil Flying V Arena (San Juan) the home of the 2012 National Collegiate Championship games.

Raffy Villavicencio said the FilOil Flying V Sports partnership with Champions League for the past six years shows the commitment of the Villavicencio Group of Companies to the promotion and development of Philippine sports particularly the country’s collegiate basketball.

FilOil Flying V Sports is the organizer of the popular “pre-season” tournament which runs from April to June featuring teams from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The Metro Manila Qualifying games where two Round of 16 seats are at stake will be held Nov. 6-8 at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

The FilOil Flying V Arena is also the venue for the “knock-out step-ladder” games of Round 16 (Sweet 16), the Final Four Round Robin starting on Nov. 21 to 25 and the Championship Best of Three series on Nov. 27, 29 and if necessary Nov. 30 for Game 3.

Gamboa announced that the regional games recently held at Dumaguete City and Iligan City together with the forthcoming North/Central Luzon and South Luzon/Bicol regional championship will be aired over Studio 23 of the ABS-CBN Network.
