MANILA, Philippines - The season finale drew out the best from AutsRacing karters Carl Luig, Yvana Carangan and Mark Francis Tanlu to capture two titles while turning in a runner-up finish in the Coca-Cola Karting Super Series at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga recently.
Following their impressive feats in the championship leg, AutsRacing capped a successful campaign with the prestigious Rookie of the Year, an overall champion trophy, two overall runner-up feats and an overall third place trophy through the big support of Kipling’s, Birel Competition Karts, Yamaha Winforce, Maynilad Water Services, Powerade Ion by Coca-Cola Bottlers, Kart Care Lubricants and FreeLine Go Kart Parts.
The 22-year-old Luig averted a possible season-ending debacle with a timely finish line maneuver to rule the Formula SL Novice race, win rookie of the year honors and capture the overall plum, clocking 12 minutes, 57.860 seconds in the 12-lap final race to escape by a mere 0.008 of a second ahead of title rival Raymond Cudala.
