Banal, Thai slugger head Pinoy Pride XVII
MANILA, Philippines - Filipino AJ “Bazooka” Banal and Pungluang Sorsingyu of Thailand clash in a duel of two of the world’s top bantamweights in Pinoy Pride XVII: Philippines vs The World on Oct. 20 at the SM MOA Arena in Pasay City.
Banal, the World Boxing Council’s No. 1, and the No. 2 Sorsingyu headline the big event featuring three championship fights and five fighters from different countries against the top Filipino sluggers.
The blockbuster event will be launched today at the Cebu Grand Hotel in Cebu City.
Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista will be clashing with Mexico’s Daniel Diaz for the WBO International featherweight title while Jason “El Nino” Pagara stakes his WBO International Jr. welterweight crown against Miguel Antoine of Barbados.
The SM Super Malls group, SM Cinemas and SM MOA Arena have tied up with ALA Promotions in promoting the event, also backed by ABS-CBN Sports. Tickets can be purchased at all SM Super Malls in Manila.
