MANILA, Philippines - Forest Hills topped Class A and finished second in Class B while Camp Aguinaldo swept the Classes B and C crowns as they dominated the sixth leg of the 2012 Champion Infinity WGAP Circuit presented by Pacsports at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna recently.
Sun Mi Hwang shot 41 points under the Modified Stableford scoring system while Grace Atienza, Nelda Roguel and Ma. Cecilia Tan added 39, 36 and 33 points, respectively, as Forest Hills pooled a 149 to edge Orchard by two for the premier Class A crown.
Abigail Lapid scored a 39 while Marissa Romano, Nila Patricio and Jan Soleil Punzalan made 38, 36 and 34, respectively, for Orchard which assembled a 147 while Canlubang, led by individual winner Luisa Lorenzo’s 45 points, finished third with a 146 in one of the most tightly-fought legs in the annual circuit organized by Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines.
Alabang placed fourth with a 140 while Sta. Elena ended up fifth with 139 and Tagaytay Highlands assembled a 132 to finish sixth in the event sponsored by Champion Infinity and Pacsports.
The Aguinaldo ladies, meanwhile, took the Classes B and C titles with Janet Agreepa and Leni Cabili firing identical 39 points and Edlyn Robas and Venus Hufalar adding a 38 and 35, respectively, to power Agui-B (151) to a five-point romp over Forest Hills, which made a 146 from Pinky Obsuna and Anli Wu’s 40 markers and Celia Hizon and Monica Ignacio’s 36 and 30 points, respectively.
Tagaytay Highlands, paced by individual champion Hedy Gaisano See’s 43 points, came in third with a 138 followed by Alabang (137), Valley Golf (134), Villamor (131), Sta. Elena (123) while Canlubang and Orchard pooled 115 points apiece.
Ruby Hamis fired 38 points, Cathy Ferrer made a 37 while Barbie Cruz and Hazel Gabud had 36 and 32 points, respectively, as Aguinaldo nipped Tagaytay Highlands, 143-141, to pocket the Class C diadem.
The Highlanders were led by individual champion Erlinda Gamut’s 39 and Margaret Tan’s 37 while Catherine Gabriel Borja and Betsy Tuason added 36 and 29 points, respectively.
Alabang wound up third with a 125 followed by Canlubang (122), Sta. Elena (118), Forest Hills (116) and Villamor (109).
