TRS-Castrol kids go all out for titles

MANILA, Philippines - The TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team seeks to wind up the season with a bang as the trio of Fil-Aussie Flynn Jackes, AT Tuason and Wils Casequin goes all out for the crucial wins to boost their title quests in the championship round of the 2012 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series  today at the Clark International Speedway.

The three young ace karters face must-win situations as points earned will be doubled for this final leg, giving them bigger chances to pull off title-clinching feats for the TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team powered by Castrol, Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, C! Magazine, OMP, Coke Zero, Oakley, Aguila and Toptul.

The three went through another round of rigid training and preparations as part of the Tuason Racing School Race Career Management Program (TRS-RCMP) under multi-awarded race car driver and TRS president JP Tuason and brother Mike.

The nine-year-old Jackes remains the team’s biggest title hope as he’s currently in close second in the hunt for the Mini-ROK plum with 417 points or just six points behind the frontrunner.

He goes all out to win the crown this time to regain pride after setbacks in the two Asian Karting Open races.

With a never-say-die attitude, the 12-year old Tuason could exploit even the slimmest chance for his title quest in the Formula Cadet Expert class where he’s currently third overall with 336 points.

He proved that in the last Asian Karting Open race when he suddenly staged a determined chase and closed in on the frontrunner, who was then way ahead and almost sure of victory, in  the last five laps.

He later turned the tide in his favor as he caught up with the race leader on the final lap and wrested the top spot on the last curve.

just before they hit the finish line.

And with points doubled for this final leg, the best and only option for Tuason is to sweep the qualifying, the Pre-Final and the Final races to pull a possible title upset over the top two contenders who amassed seven-leg totals of 407 and 377 points respectively.

Casequin, who’s fifth overall with 232 points, hopes to further show marked improvement after his 1-2 finish with Tuason in the Pre-Finals of the last Asian Karting Open as he guns for a big win to redeem himself from the frustrations and disappointments of the past races.

“The rigid training and preparations for this championship round was a big help to open the eyes of our young future champions in identifying their strengths and weaknesses to come up with individual solutions that will ensure progress and continuous development of their racing careers,” related JP Tuason.
