Mendoza tops NCA kickoff derby

MANILA, Philippines - Arnold Mendoza posted five points with his top-notch entries and emerged solo champion in the National Cockers Alliance’s kickoff derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig last Tuesday.

Ramon Gamboa, Mayor Boyet Joson and the tandem of Newton Isaac and Mendoza shared runner-up honors with 4.5 points each while Gov. Vic Yap, Ka Luding and Rey Soberano, Osang dela Cruz and Danny Teves ended up with four points apiece.

Meanwhile, the second leg of the NCA circuit will be held Sept. 25 with another banner field expected to participate.

The upcoming event will be hosted by Mayor Elan Nagaño, Tommy Chua, Osang Dela Cruz, Boyet Joson, the Batangas Group, Jun Diamante and Ray Tambis.
