Feati, PWU duel for ISAA semis

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Feati defeated St. Dominic College of Asia, 98-94, while Philippine Women’s University blasted Manila Tytana Colleges, 81-65, Wednesday to forge a one-game duel for the last semifinals berth in the fourth Interscholastic Athletic Association at the MTC gym.

John Michael Pablo scored 25 points and Leo Pati-an added 23 markers as the Feati Seahawks withstood a big rally of SDCA from an 81-63 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to seal the win.

On the other hand, veteran Morris Bryan Pallares sizzled for 24 points as the PWU Patriots went on a hot start before leading by as many as 28 points to frustrate Manila Tytana.

Both teams will meet at 9 a.m. today at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros. The winner faces defending champion Technological Institute of the Philippines on Sept. 25 at the start of the stepladder semis.

Philippine Merchant Marine School clinched an outright finals berth after topping the elimination round with a perfect 6-0 record. The best-of-three championship series begins Oct. 4.

La Consolacion College Manila holds a twice-to-beat advantage against the winner between TIP and either FEATI or PWU in the last phase of the stepladder semis on Sept. 27 and, if necessary, on Oct. 1.

The tournament is backed by Molten and Mikasa of Sonia Trading, Globe and Abot Kaya Pinoy.
