MANILA, Philippines - The fast-growing sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) and combat events in general just found a new way to the heart of Filipino fight fans.
Through Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE), a Hong Kong-based media company, MMA action will be carried through CTE’s newest channel, KIX.
Andy Chang, CTE senior vice president for marketing, said KIX offers a smorgasbord of premium combat sports and sports that are just different from the others.
“KIX is the home of combat sports in Asia, and for those who love the adrenaline rush, the adventure, the thrill. KIX is the adrenalin-pumping channel,” said the CTE executive.
Chang, however, pointed out during yesterday simple and yet elegant press launch at the Makati Shangri-La, that KIX is “not just a sports channel.”
Also on hand were CTE president and COO Todd Miller, advertising sales director Magdalene Cheung, Skycable’s Tomas de Guzman and Jen Mortillero, and CTE public relations manager Pauline Poon.
In between great action of the Bellator Fighting Championships, M1 Challenge and It’s Showtime on Mondays and Fridays, KIX also offers the best action movies and action series.
“We have lots of action movies and action series even from Hollywood. KIX is the destination for non-stop action entertainment in Asia,” said Chang, formerly of Sony Pictures Television.
Starting next year, KIX will also feature the LFL (Lingerie Football League) where women will play America’s favorite sport, football, in their lingerie.
“They are not playboy bunnies playing football but real athletes,” said Chang.
KIX has a better half in Thrill, Asia’s first and only channel dedicated to horror, suspense movies and TV series like Bedlam, Sacred Monsters, Psychoville, Coma, Bag of Bones and Holliston.
“These are actually two TV channels that will break the balance and revolutionize your TV balance,” said Chang of KIX and Thrill, both to be carried by Skycable, Destiny and Cablelink.
KIX and Thrill are actually the best of both worlds.
