Pathak, tennis official, 64

MANILA, Philippines - Ajay Pathak, a long-time Philta (Philippine Tennis Association) official, passed away last Tuesday due to lingering illness. He was 64.

He is survived by wife Nadia and children Philip and Em-Em.

His remains lie in state at the Arlington Memorial Chapel until Sept. 22.

A necrological service will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. Cremation will be on Sunday.

Pathak was the main proponent of the Asian 14-under championship that served as the tournament for young players gearing up for the juniors circuit. He also held a position in the Asian Tennis Federation as board member and in the International Tennis Federation as junior committee member.

Philta president Rep. Edwin Olivarez, former Philta head and PSC commissioner Buddy Andrada, Philta secretary general Romeo Magat, Phinma Group of Companies chief Oscar Hilado and national player Francis Casey Alcantara will lead the necrological rites.
