TRS Castrol Kids eye wins in Asian karting

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team hopes to take the spotlight anew as they plunge into another round of exciting battles in the third round of the 2012 Asian Open Karting Championship series at the Carmona Racetrack.

Fil-Aussie Flynn Jackes and AT Tuason looks forward to winning feats anew in their respective classes as they will be joined by Wils Casequin in the title hunts for the TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team powered by Castrol, Bridgestone, Coke Zero, Standard Insurance, OMP, Oakley, Speedlab, C! Magazine, Toptul and Aguila Auto Glass.

The nine-year-old Jackes seeks to preserve his hold of solo leadership in the AKOC Mini-ROK class as he guns for a repeat of his AKOC kickoff victory that hoisted the Philippine flag high at the Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit in Macau.

Gearing up for his fifth straight winning streak this season, the refined driving and racing judgment he showed in winning the Enchanted Kingdom race will be Jackes’ strong weapons in his bid to get back at Indonesians Barichello Noor and Keanon Santoso who spoiled his bid for victory in his home turf.

Though he finished third behind his foreign rivals in the previous AKOC race, Jackes still captured the overall Mini-ROK crown in the local national karting series.

He has so far garnered a total of 69 in the AKOC Mini-ROK class, enjoying a slim two-point advantage over Santoso and currently holds second place in the national series with 372 points, just nine points behind the frontrunner.

The 12-year-old Tuason showed a different character when he emerged the Formula Cadet Expert champion in the previous AKOC race over the favored perennial winners to deliver the lone champion trophy for the TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team.

He’s hoping to duplicate that triumph to push his chances for the series crown.

Casequin also seeks to surpass his fifth place finish in last AKOC race with strong intentions to improve his standing in the series.

“I told the boys it’s not enough to be satisfied with their previous glories. They should be hungrier to show more improvements and achieve more feats as they continue their journey as future champions of Philippine Motorsports, and hopefully, as future icons in the international racing scene,” said multi-awarded race car driver JP Tuason who with brother Mike, personally supervises the rigid training and preparations of the TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team under the Tuason Racing School Race Career Management Program (TRS-RCMP).
