Continent's top riders clash in Asian karting

- The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  The Asian Karting Open Championship stages its third round on Aug. 31-Sept. 2 with the region’s top karters slugging it out for top honors with the country’s best at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.

Fern-C Racing brothers Milo and Estefano Rivera go all out for a repeat of their amazing feats in the previous leg of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.

Milo Rivera rallied from behind the 20-man field to capture the premier Formula 125 Open Seniors crown while Estefano topped the Formula 125 Open Junior division.

Others expected to contend for the crown in the event, backed by the Philippine Sports Commission and sponsored by Coca-Cola, Yokohama, the official tires, Sparco, Vivere, the official home of Asian karters, Motorstar and Aeromed, are Industria Racing’s Franco Reyes and CJ Tsui.

Reyes checked in close behind Milo Rivera for Phl’s 1-2 finish while Tsui placed fifth and became the lone Filipino among the Top 5 contenders for the Asian crown with 35 points for fourth overall.

Aside from Estefano Rivera, Cebuano Jette Calderon of Industria Racing and Ryan Raymond Cudala, who recently moved to Fern-C Racing, also vie in the Formula Open 125 Juniors.
