Brodett, Sacramento top Southwoods Srs
MANILA, Philippines - Butch Brodett and Rolando Sacramento turned in contrasting rounds to rule their respective divisions and lead the winners in the Manila Southwoods Seniors Trimester birthday bash at the Manila Southwoods’ Masters Course in Carmona, Cavite last Thursday.
Brodett, toting an 11 handicap, strung up nines of 38-38 at the hazard-laden layout and ran away with the Class A (0-12 handicap) crown with a gross 76 for a net 65, five strokes ahead of Brian Park, who scored a net 70 from a gross 81 in the second of three tournaments lined up this year honoring the birthday celebrants for each trimester.
Sacramento, a 19-handicapper, leaned on a solid backside stint of 43 for a gross 88 as he wound up with a net 69 and edged Jojo Lee in the countback to snatch the Class B (13-24) diadem in the event organized by Southwoods Seniors Chapter headed by president Jose Cedo and vice president/tournament chairman Paco Gonzalez.
Ed Pozon shot a net 67 from a gross 93 as he took the Class C (25-36) title, beating Parouk Hussin, who had a gross 98 and a net 73 in the tournament sponsored by Anako Phils. Corp., Asia Pacific Golf Corp. (APGC), CH Asia World of Electric, Inc., Electro Mechanical Products, Inc. (EMPI), Fairbright Enterprises, Inc., Red Eagle Lending Investors, Inc., Romago, Inc., Rudy Project Phils. and Tocoms Phils., Inc.
Rod Pepito, meanwhile, topped the Super Seniors (75-above) class with a gross 102 and a net 71, besting Cedo, who settled for runner-up with a net 81 from a gross 103 in the one-day tournament backed by Mega Fiber, a global brand marketed by Whealth, Inc., and One Pharma Company, Inc.
