Southwoods seniors golf slated

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Southwoods seniors chapter will hold its second trimester birthday bash tournament on Aug. 23 with another huge field expected to vie for top honors in various divisions at the Legends course in Carmona, Cavite.

Danny Gutierrez and Mentz Deguito are tipped to lead the cast in the upcoming tournament after topping the Classes A (0-12) and B (13-24), respectively, in the kickoff of the three-stage tournament for senior chapter members and guests aged 55 years old and above last May.

But they will have their hands full against a field out to foil their back-to-back title bids in the 18-hole event organized by Southwoods Seniors Chapter headed by president Jose Cedo and vice president/tournament chairman Paco Gonzalez.

Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. with the shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Other titles to be disputed in the tournament, backed by hole-in-one sponsor Yamaha by Kart Plaza and Wilson, are Class C (25-36) and Super Senior (75-and-above).

Prizes will also be raffled off during awards rites in the tournament sponsored by Anako Phils. Corp., Asia Pacific Golf Corp. (APGC), CH Asia World of Electric, Inc., Electro Mechanical Products, Inc. (EMPI), Fairbright Enterprises, Inc., Red Eagle Lending Investors, Inc., Romago, Inc., Rudy Project Phils. and Tocoms Phils., Inc.
