TRS-Castrol team vies in karting series sixth leg

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The TRS-Castrol Racing Kids Team hopes to sustain top form as it competes in the sixth and penultimate leg of the National Karting Super Series at the Enchanted Kingdom tracks in Sta. Rosa, Laguna this Sunday.

The troika of Fil-Aussie Flynn Jackes, AT Tuason and Wills Casequin set out against the best in the field as they seek top honors coming off impressive finishes in the Philippine leg of the Asian Karting Open Championship last month.

The troika, whose campaign is backed by Castrol, Bridgestone, Coke Zero, Standard Insurance, OMP, Oakley, Speedlab, C! Magazine, Toptul and Aguila Auto Glass, are raring to dish out the form they showed in the Asian tilt under tough condition last month.

The nine-year-old Jackes, the lone Filipino winner in the AKOC kickoff leg in Macau, seeks to stretch his win run in the mini-ROK class after ruling the past two legs.

He’s currently in second overall with 272 but confident of his chances to close in on the leader after this championship.

Tuason, 12, has shown marked improvement in the past two races, emerging the Formula Cadet Expert champion in the recent AKOC Philippine leg.

The 10-year-old Casequin, on the other hand, finished fourth overall in the Formula Cadet Expert division of the AKOC Phl leg.

“It’s nice to celebrate our win but I told them it’s time to move on for there are bigger tasks ahead. They should go for more victories,” said multi-awarded race car driver JP Tuason.
