Phl chess teams guests at SCOOP
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine men’s and women’s teams bound for the Chess Olympiad will be the main guests in today’s SCOOP sa Kamayan at Kamayan-Padre Faura.
GMs Eugene Torre, Wesley So, Oliver Barbosa and Mark Paragua and IM Oliver Dimakiling will talk about their chances in the event set Aug. 27-Sept. 10 in Turkey.
Also appearing are members of the women’s side made up of WIM Catherine Perena, WNMs Janelle Mae Frayna and Jedora Docena, and Women’s FIDE Masters Rulp Ylem Jose and Jodilyn Fronda.
Boxing promoter Bebot Elorde and WBC youth intercontinental light-fly champ, Renan Trongko, WBC youth international super-fly kingpin Gabriel Altarejos, WBC youth super-bantamweight titlist Jaderes Padua and Dennis Tubieron have also been invited to grace the 11 a.m. session.
